FLORENCE, S.C. | Georgia College held off Young Harris College 5-3 in an elimination match at the 2017 Peach Belt Conference Women's Tennis Tournament Saturday (April 22) morning at the Dr. Eddie Floyd Florence Tennis Center.

The 31st-ranked Bobcats improved to 11-10 overall, while the Mountain Lions, who are ranked No. 38 in the ITA, fell to 15-8. The Mountain Lions, who are ranked sixth in the latest NCAA Division II regional rankings, will find out Tuesday (April 25) at 8 p.m. if they will earn a trip to the NCAA tournament for the first time in the program's history.

Georgia College took a 2-1 lead after a doubles before the Mountain Lions quickly evened the match at 2 as Elin Rundcrantz picked up a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 2 singles. The Bobcats won the next two matches to take a 4-2 lead before Oriana Labaqui got a point back at No. 3 singles with a 3-6, 7-5, 6-2 victory. However, Georgia College won the match as Emma Niemi defeated Carol Quevedo 7-6, 2-6, 6-4 at No. 5 singles.
