ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. | Young Harris College finished in third place at the 2017 Peach Belt Conference Men's Golf Championship Sunday (April 16) afternoon.
The Mountain Lions, who are ranked No. 23 in the latest Bushnell/GCAAÂ DIvision II Coaches Poll, carded rounds of 293, 298 and 290 to finish the 54-hole event at 881 on the par 72, 6,939-yard layout on the Slammer and Squire Course at the World Golf Village.
The University of South Carolina Aiken, who is ranked 16th nationally, earned the conference's automatic berth to the NCAA Division II Championship as they won the PBC Tournament with a score of 870, nine better than second place Lander University, which is ranked No. 7.
Freshman
Valter Andersson earned All-Peach Belt Tournament team as he finished in a tie for third place at one-under par 215. Andersson had round of 77 and 70 before firing a four-under par 68 in the final round. All-PBC performer
David Wallin tied for sixth overall at 218 after posting scores of 74, 73, and 71.
Trey Pearson sandwiched an 80 around rounds of 72 and 73 to finish in 19th at 225, while All-PBC performer
Eli Crumley shot 227 and tied for 32nd place after rounds of 70, 79 and 78.
John Bolger came in 47th at 233 with rounds of 77, 76 and 80.
YHC, which remained No. 6 in the second NCAA Division II regional rankings, will now await the announcement of tournament field April 28 by the NCAA. Ten teams will be selected for each regional along with the top four individuals not on the top 10 teams. In the Southeast Region, the winners from the Peach Belt, South Atlantic Conference and Conference Carolinas tournaments earn automatic berths while the other seven teams will be at-large selections.

The South/Southeast Regional, which will be held May 8-10 at the Mission Inn Resort and Club in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, will be one of four regionals before the national championship will be competed May 22-26 on the Watson Course on the Reunion Resort in Kissimmee, Florida.

The top seven teams at the South/Southeast Regional, along with the top two individuals not on those teams, will advance to the 20-team field at the national championship.
