YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | The Young Harris College women's tennis team won four singles matches as they rallied for a 5-4 Peach Belt Conference decision over the University of Montevallo Friday (March 31) afternoon at the Bob & Gayle Nichols Tennis Complex.

The 38th-ranked Mountain Lions improved to 13-5 overall and to 6-3 in the Peach Belt, while the Falcons fell to 14-4 and 2-4. Young Harris returns to action Sunday (April 2) at 2 p.m. when they host Clayton State University in a Peach Belt match. The Mountain Lions will recognize their two seniors - Eva Castiglioni and Kadie Hudgins - prior to the match.

Young Harris found itself in a 2-1 hole after doubles play, but quickly got wins from Maria Puerta, Carol Quevedo and Oriana Labaqui in singles to take a 4-2 lead. However, the Falcons tied the match at 4 with decisions at the top two flights. Laura Sanchez dropped her first set at No. 4 singles 6-1, but rallied to take the final two sets 6-3 and 6-2 to secure the win for the Mountain Lions.
