YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Young Harris College defeated Tusculum College 7-2 in battle of nationally ranked women's tennis teams Wednesday (March 29) afternoon at the Bob & Gayle Nichols Tennis Complex.

The Mountain Lions, who are ranked No. 38 in the latest ITA Division II Rankings, improved to 12-5, while the 39th-ranked Pioneers saw their nine-match win streak snapped as they fell to 12-4. Young Harris returns to Peach Belt Conference action with a noon home match Friday (March 31) against the University of Montevallo.

Young Harris took a 2-1 lead in doubles after Carol Quevedo and Maria Puerta picked up a hard-fought 9-7 win at No. 2 doubles. The Mountain Lions recorded wins in three of the first four singles matches completed and sealed the victory as Elin Rundcrantz recorded a straight-set victory at No. 2 singles.
