CARROLLTON, Ga. | The University of West Georgia baseball team scored in every inning but two as they recorded a 20-9 non-conference baseball victory over Young Harris College Wednesday (March 29) afternoon at Cole Field.
Both teams are now 11-18. Young Harris returns to action Saturday (April 1) when they travel to Greenwood, South Carolina, for a 1 p.m. Peach Belt Conference doubleheader against Lander University.
The Wolves collected 16 hits against nine different Mountain Lion pitchers as they scored in every inning but the first and sixth.
Conor Casey (1-1) took the loss for the Mountain Lions.
The Mountain Lions scored their runs in bunches, scoring six times in the sixth and adding three more in the ninth. Young Harris had 12 hits in the game, including four from
Brett Westmoreland and three more from
Jackson Jones.Â
Tyler Washington had a two-run single in the six-run sixth inning, while
Nick Sexton added a bases-loaded walk.
Rudy Gaona drove in another run with a ground out, while Jones added an RBI single.Westmoreland added a two-run single in the ninth, while Jones added a single through the right side for the final run.
