SAINT LEO, Fla. | Saint Leo University scored eight of the first 10 goals as the 15th-ranked Lions defeated Young Harris College 20-9 in a non-conference men's lacrosse match Sunday (March 26) afternoon at the University Turf Field.
The Lions improved to 8-2, while the Mountain Lions fell to 5-7. Young Harris returns to action April 8 when they host Shorter University in a 7 p.m. match at the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field.
Colin Fitzpatrick,
Bevan Pate and
Sam Gasta led Young Harris with two goals each.
Bruce Silk,
Duncan Jackson and
Daniel Zimny had one goal apiece.
Sean Siemen tallied two assists for the Mountain Lions, while
Chandler Bradley, Fitzpatrick and Pate recorded one each.
Zach Stephenson led YHC with 11 face-off wins and six ground balls. Silk scooped up five more ground balls, while
Zach Hemans had four and
Kerry Ostrowski picked up three.
Mason King had nine saves in goal for the Mountain Lions.
