YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | The University of North Georgia held off Young Harris College 5-4 in a Peach Belt Conference women's tennis match between cross-mountain rivals Friday (March 24) afternoon at the Bob & Gayle Nichols Tennis Complex.
The 36th-ranked Nighthawks improved to 13-3 overall and to 4-2 inside the Peach Belt, while the No. 38-ranked Mountain Lions fell to 10-4 and 4-3. Young Harris travels to Greenwood, South Carolina, for a 1:30 p.m. PBC match Saturday (March 25) at Lander University.
North Georgia took a 2-1 lead after doubles, but Young Harris tied the match at 3 when
Carol Quevedo and
Maria Puerta earns wins at No. 5 and 6 singles, respectively. The Nighthawks took the lead 4-3, before clinching the win as No. 33-ranked  Kathrin Waidner edged No. 40-ranked
Eva Castiglioni 7-6 (2), 7-6 (5) at No. 1.
