YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Brett Westmoreland hit a game-winning home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to give Young Harris College a 6-5 come-from-behind Peach Belt Conference victory over Georgia College Friday (March 24) evening at Zell B. Miller Field.
The Mountain Lions improved to 10-15 on the year and to 4-6 in the Peach Belt, while the Bobcats fell to 17-8 and 5-5. The two teams wrap up their three-game series Saturday (March 25) with a noon doubleheader.
Westmoreland connected on a 3-2 pitch with one out from reliever Brady Walsh (3-1) and sent the ball over the right-center field fence and it bounced off the roof of the soccer/lacrosse press box. It was his fifth homer of the season.
Westmoreland's long ball was one of four hit by the Mountain Lions in the game as they worked back from a 5-0 deficit.
Luke Miller hit a solo home run - his third of the year - to left field in the sixth before
Tyler Washington smacked a three-run shot - his first of 2017 - in the seventh inning to pull within a run at 5-4. Young Harris tied the game at 5 in the eighth on
Nick Sexton's leadoff homer - his second of the season - to right field.

Jared Campbell (1-0) earned the win as he pitched a scoreless ninth inning.
The Mountain Lions had eight hits in the game with Sexton and Westmoreland leading the way with two hits each. Westmoreland also recorded a double to center field in the third inning.
