YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Kristin Wilder scored seven goals to lead Southern New Hampshire University to a 19-11 non-conference women's lacrosse match over Young Harris College Wednesday (March 15) afternoon at the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field.
The Penmen improved to 4-0, while the Mountain Lions slipped to 4-6. Young Harris returns to action next Wednesday (March 22) as they host Newberry College in a 4 p.m. contest.
Southern New Hampshire broke the game open midway through the first half as they scored eight of nine goals during a stretch to open up an 11-3 lead.Â
Kendra Parenteau led the Mountain Lions with six goals, while
Nicole Kernohan added two more.
Sarah Bialecki,
Maddie Peek and
Erika Cross each contributed a goal for the Mountain Lions. Bialecki,
Rachel Lepine and Parenteau each registered an assist.
Lepine paced YHC with six ground balls, while
Hannah Sacristan and Parenteau each scooped up two apiece. Lepine also caused three turnovers, while Parenteau had two.
Meghan Tonnesen led the Mountain Lions with six draw controls, while
Kirsten Barth had three.
Julia Darroch tallied 10 saves in goal for Young Harris.
