YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | West Chester University rode a strong effort in the first half as the Golden Rams defeated Young Harris College 17-5 in a women's lacrosse match Sunday (March 12) afternoon at the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field.
The No. 6-ranked Golden Rams improved to 3-0, while the Mountain Lions fell to 4-5. Young Harris returns to action Wednesday (March 15) at 7 p.m. when they host Southern New Hampshire University.
Tara Morissey led West Chester, who outshot the Mountain Lions 34-10, with seven goals as the Golden Rams took an 11-1 lead at the half.Â
Nicole Kernohan led Young Harris with three goals, while
Rachel Lepine and
Katie McNutt tallied the other scores.
Erika Cross and
Kendra Parenteau registered an assist apiece.
Hannah Sacristan scooped up four ground balls for the Mountain Lions, while
Meghan Tonnesen and
Elli Flaig each picked up two.
Kirsten Barth and Cross led YHC with two draw controls each.
Julia Darroch picked up 13 saves in goal for Young Harris.
