TAMPA, Fla. | Amanda Voges scored five goals to lead the University of Tampa past Young Harris College 16-3 in a non-conference women's lacrosse match Wednesday (March 1) evening at Naimoli Field.
The Spartans improved to 2-2, while the Mountain Lions fell to 4-2. Young Harris returns to action Monday (March 6) when they face St. Anslem College in an 11 a.m. match in Davenport, Florida.
Mary Deatrick and
Nicole Kernohan scored back-to-back goals 69 seconds into the match to give YHC a 2-0 lead. However, the Spartans scored the next 15 goals before Young Harris got a goal from
Katie McNutt with 4:44 to go.
Kendra Parenteau added two assists for the Mountain Lions.
Kirsten Barth led the Mountain Lions with four draw controls.
Julia Darroch recorded six saves in goal for Young Harris.
