WINTER PARK, Fla. | Rollins College defeated Young Harris College 4-1 Saturday (Feb. 4) afternoon in a non-conference baseball game at Alfond Stadium.
The Tars improved to 2-0, while the Mountain Lions fell to 0-2. The teams wrap up their three-game series with a noon contest Sunday (Feb. 5).
Rollins took a 1-0 lead in the third inning off a RBI single by Nick Breen. The Tars added a run in the fourth off YHC starter McLain Harris (0-1) on double by Nick Santucci.
Young Harris got a run back in its half of the fifth.
Royce Woolfolk started the rally with a two-out double to left center and scored on a
Zach Odom double to right center.Â
The Tars added single runs in the sixth and seventh innings to push their lead to 4-1.Â
Brian Auerbach (1-0) earned the win for Rollins while Brett Scafidi pitched the final 2 1/3 innings to earn his first save.
Young Harris outhit Rollins 10-9. Woolfolk, Odom,
Zach Wall, and
Rudy Gaona had two hits apiece for the Mountain Lions.
