YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Natalie Pachinger scored five goals to lead the University of Alabama in Huntsville to a 15-10 Gulf South Conference women's lacrosse victory over Young Harris College Saturday (Feb.. 18) afternoon at the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field.
The game was a rematch of last year's GSC Invitational Tournament Championship match that the Mountain Lions won. UAH improved to 3-0 overall and to 2-0 in the Gulf South, while the Mountain Lions fell to 1-1 and 0-1. Young Harris will host the University of Montevallo in a 1 p.m. GSC match Sunday (Feb. 19).
The Chargers led 8-6 at the half and broke the match as they scored six of the first seven goals in the second half to 15-7 lead.
Kendra Parenteau led the Mountain Lions with three goals, while
Nicole Kernohan and
Sarah Bialecki each scored twice.
Maddie Peek,
Erika Cross and
Elli Flaig accounted for a goal each. Kernohan, Parenteau and Peek each tallied an assist for Young Harris.
