YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Justin Diamond and Jack Vonarb each scored three goals as No. 20 Rollins College defeated Young Harris College 12-6 in a non-conference men's lacrosse match Sunday (Feb. 12) afternoon at the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field.
The Tars improved to 2-0, while the Mountain Lions remained winless in three games. Young Harris will travel to Franklin Springs, Georgia, for 4 p.m. match Wednesday (Feb. 15) against Emmanuel (Ga.) College.
Rollins scored the first four goals before
Bevan Pate scored a man-down goal for the Mountain Lions with 11:08 remaining.
Sam Gasta scored two more times in the second quarter for Young Harris, but the Tars took a 8-3 lead at the half.
Rollins, which scored four times with a man advantage, scored the first three goals of the second half, before Young Harris scored three of the final four goals.
Pate and Gasta led the Mountain Lions with two goals apiece, while
Matty Ledon and
Chandler Bradley each scored once. Pate added two assists, while Gasta had one.
Zach Stephenson claimed nine face-offs for the Mountain Lions and led YHC with five ground balls. Gasta scooped up four ground balls, while
Julian Infanti and Ledon added three each.
Mason King had seven saves in net for the Mountain Lions.
