Young Harris wraps up fall season at McDonough Cup

ORLANDO, Fla. |
The Young Harris College men's golf team wrapped up their fall season Tuesday (Oct. 31) afternoon at the McDonough Cup hosted by Rollins College.

The Mountain Lions shot their highest round of the fall as they carded a 305 on the par 72, 6,955-yard layout to finish in eighth place at 902. Newberry College hung on to win the 18-team tournament by two strokes with a score of 880.

Valter Andersson was the top finisher for Young Harris as he tied for 12th place at 223 after posting a 77. Anton Karlbom had the low round of the day for the Mountain Lions with a 72 and registered his first top-20 finish - a tie for 17th - at 224. David Wallin tied for 38th place at 228 after a 79, while Trey Pearson tied for 46th at 230 after a 78. Ryan Emery fired a 78 and tied for 59th place at 233.

Young Harris opens its spring season Feb. 12 when they travel to Orange Park, Florida, to compete in the Spring Kickoff Intercollegiate.
