DAHLONEGA, Ga. | The Young Harris College men's golf team finished in sixth place Tuesday (Oct. 3) afternoon at the UNG Fall Invitational hosted by the University of North Georgia.
The Mountain Lions shot 295 in the final round on the par 72, 6,967-yard layout at the Achasta Golf Club to finish the 54-hole tournament at 875. No. 8-ranked Newberry College won the 13-team event with a three-round score of 862, five strokes clear of No. 23 Lander University.
David Wallin secured a top-10 finish for the Mountain Lions as he carded a 73 in the final round and tied for ninth place at 216.
Valter Andersson was a stroke back at 217 and finished in a tie for 11th after carding a 75, while
Trey Pearson had a 74 and came in a tie for 21st place at 220.
Ryan Emery tied for 25th at 222 as he posted a 73, while
Anton Karlbom shot a 76 and came in a tie for 50th place at 231.
John Lichtenwalner, who was playing as an indiviudal, registered a 79 in the final round and tied for 50th place at 231.
The Mountain Lions return to action Oct. 23 when they travel to Carrollton, Georgia, to compete in the UWG Matt Dyas Invitational.
