COLUMBUS, Ga. | The Young Harris College men's golf team finished in eighth place at the Cougar Invitational presented by Aflac Tuesday (Sept. 27) afternoon.
The Mountain Lions shot 298 on the final trip around the par 71, 6,515-yard layout at the Country Club of Columbus to complete the 54-hole tournament at 872. The University of North Alabama won the 14-team event with a score of 845, four strokes better than Lander University.
David Wallin recorded a top 20 finish as he tied for 19th place at 215 after registering a 74 in the final round.
Eli Crumley had the low round of the day for the Mountain Lions with a 73 and tied for 24th place at 216 while
Valter Andersson carded a 76 and finished in a tie for 32nd at 218.
Trey Pearson fired a 75 and tied for 50th place at 223 while
James Rowe shot a 79 and tied for 71st at 235.
Young Harris returns to competition Monday (Oct. 3) when they travel to Dahlonega, Georgia, to compete in the UNG Fall Invitational at the Achasta Golf Club.
