CALERA, Ala. | The Young Harris College men's golf team finished in third place at the Full Moon Invitational Tuesday (Sept. 13) afternoon.
The Mountain Lions shot 281 in the final round to finish the 36-hole tournament at 564, surpassing the previous best (NCAA era) 36-hole effort by six strokes. Â Lee University won the nine-team tournament with a two-day tally of 555, five strokes clear of tournament host University of Montevallo.
Eli Crumley carded the low round of the tournament for the Mountain Lions with a three-under par 68 on the par 71, 6,745-yard layout on the Timberline Golf Club to finish in a tie for third place at 138, tying his best 36-hole effort at YHC.
David Wallin tied for seventh place at 141 after posting a 72 in the final round, while
Trey Pearson finished in a tie for 11th at 142 with a 70. The 142 score tied Pearson's best 36-hole score for the Mountain Lions.
Valter Andersson shot a 71 and finished tied for 15th at 143 while
John Bolger carded a 72 and came in 21st at 146.
Lee's Shea Sylvester won the tournament in a playoff with a score of 135.
Young Harris will return to competition Sept. 26 when they travel to Columbus, Georgia, for the Columbus State Cougar Invitational.
