GREENWOOD, S.C. | Young Harris College won four of the six singles matches to rally for a 5-4 Peach Belt Conference women's tennis victory over Lander University Sunday (April 3) afternoon at the Joe Cabri Tennis Center.
The Mountain Lions improved to 10-6 overall and to 3-5 in the league while the Bearcats fell to 5-9 and 1-9. Young Harris returns to action Saturday (April 9) with a noon PBC match against the University of Montevallo at the Bob & Gayle Nichols Tennis Complex.
Lander took a 2-1 lead after doubles before the Mountain Lions got wins from
Elin Rundcrantz,
Oriana Labaqui and
Maria Puerta in singles to tie the match at 4 before
Laura Sanchez clinched the win with a 6-2, 2-6, 6-1 decision at No. 4 singles.
