MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. | Georgia College jumped out to a quick start as the Bobcats collected an 11-6 Peach Belt Conference victory over Young Harris College Sunday (April 24) afternoon at John Kurtz Field.

Georgia College improved to 27-16 overall and to 16-11 in the conference while the Mountain Lions fell to 12-35 and 6-21.

Young Harris will conclude its 2016 campaign with a weekend series against PBC-foe Georgia Southwestern State University at Zell B. Miller Field. The three-game series opens with a 1 p.m. doubleheader Saturday (April 30). Prior to the game, the Mountain Lions will recognize their three seniors in pregame ceremonies at 12:45 p.m.

Georgia College took an 8-0 lead after six innings before the Mountain Lions rallied for three runs in both the seventh and eighth innings to pull within 8-6.

Triston Smith led off the seventh with a double to right and
Zach Odom followed with a walk before
Nick Sexton tripled both home on his hit down the right field line. Sexton later scored on
Zach Beggs' sacrifice fly.

Jared Campbell drove in the first run in the eighth inning on his single through the left side. Sexton drove in the final two runs with his single.

Young Harris had 10 hits with Odom (three) and Sexton (four) combining for seven hits in the first two spots in the lineup for the Mountain Lions. Sexton also drove in four runs.

Trevor Guthrie (3-3) earned the win while Cameron Busby earned his second save.
Cole Amtmann (0-5) took the loss for Young Harris.
