MONTEVALLO, Ala. | The University of Montevallo used 14 hits to pick up a 9-1 Peach Belt Conference baseball victory over Young Harris College Saturday (April 16) afternoon at Johnson Field.

The Falcons improved to 23-22 overall and to 14-12 in the Peach Belt while the Mountain Lions fell to 12-29 and 6-17. The teams wrap up their weekend series with a noon Central time contest Sunday (April 17).

Young Harris, which only had four hits, scored its lone run in the ninth inning on a
Jimmy Pinakidis RBI single through the right side.
Troy Kizer had two hits for the Mountain Lions while
Zach Beggs added another one.

Montevallo starter Cody Hughes (3-2) earned the win as he struck out five in six innings while
Donald Frew (3-6) took the loss for Young Harris.
