YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | The Young Harris College women's tennis team suffered their first loss of the 2016 campaign with an 8-1 decision to Columbus State University in a Peach Belt Conference match Sunday (March 6) afternoon at the Bob & Gayle Nichols Tennis Complex.

The Cougars, who are ranked No. 8 nationally, improved to 9-3 overall and to 6-0 in the Peach Belt while the Mountain Lions fell to 5-1 and 2-1. Young Harris returns to action Tuesday (March 8) with a 1 p.m. match against Coker College in Hartsville, South Carolina.

Carolina Hernandez picked up the point for Young Harris as she defeated Kirsa Utech, who is ranked 50th in the latest ITA singles rankings, 6-4, 7-5 at No. 3 singles.
