YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Fourteen different players scored as the Young Harris College men's lacrosse team picked up an 18-1 men's lacrosse decision over Davis & Elkins College Saturday (March 5) afternoon on Senior Day at the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field.
The Mountain Lions improved to 3-3 while the Senators played their first-ever match in their program's history. Young Harris returns to action with a 2 p.m. home match Monday (March 7) when they host Ohio Valley University.
Young Harris recognized its six seniors –
Joe Appolonia,
Alex Ashley,
Mason McBroom,
Ryan Pickowitz,
Matt Spadafora and
Jeff Rivait – prior to the match.
Spadafora led the Mountain Lions, who scored the first 14 goals of the match, with three goals while McBroom added two.
Connor Pittman,
Jayden Campbell,
Chandler Bradley,
Ian Hurley, Ashley,
Jake Dunlop, Appolonia,
Zac Barrett,
Matty Ledon,
Michael Gernatt,
Zach Hemans and
Connor Leies also found the back of the net.
Campbell led Young Harris with five assists while
Garrett Blake had two. Bradley and
Bruce Silk recorded one assist each.
Pickowitz picked up four saves in 42 minutes in goal for the Mountain Lions while
Sean Dever recorded three.
Young Harris won 20 of the 23 faceoffs with Barrett winning 10 and
Zach Stephenson added eight more. Stephenson and Barrett each scooped up six ground balls while Ledon picked up five more as YHC held a 34-19 advantage. Ashley, Campbell and Dunlop also had three ground balls for the Mountain Lions.
