YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Ty Broady and Chris Adams each drove in three runs as Lee University picked up a 12-2 non-conference baseball victory over Young Harris College Tuesday (March 29) evening at Zell B. Miller Field.

The Flames improved to 17-13 while the Mountain Lions fell to 10-20. Young Harris returns to action Saturday (April 2) when they travel to Anderson, South Carolina, for a 1 p.m. doubleheader against Anderson (S.C.) University.

Lee took a 1-0 lead on a solo homer by Adams to right field in the sixth inning off YHC reliever
Evan Meyer (0-1). The Flames added an unearned run in the seventh before
Troy Kizer led off the bottom of the inning with a homer – his fourth of the year - to left field to cut the deficit to 2-1.

Adams hit his second homer - a solo shot to right-center field - of the game and sixth of the season in the eighth inning as Lee took a 3-1 lead. Young Harris had the bases loaded in the bottom of the eighth inning with one out, but Lee reliever Trenton Hill, who earned his first save of 2016, wiggled out of danger by ending the inning with two strikeouts.

Lee broke the game open by batting around in the ninth inning, scoring nine runs. Broady contributed a three-run home run – his third of the year – to right field.

Lee reliever Corbin Lamb (3-0) struck out four in 2 1/3 innings of work.
