No. 20 Fighting Knights defeat Mountain Lions 13-5

BOCA RATON, Fla. | Lynn University used strong first and third quarter performances to defeat Young Harris College 13-5 in a men's lacrosse match Saturday (March 26) afternoon at Bobby Campbell Stadium.
 
The No. 20-ranked Fighting Knights improved to 7-3 while the Mountain Lions saw their six-match winning streak snapped as they fell to 6-4. Young Harris returns to action Wednesday (March 30) when they host Reinhardt University in a 7 p.m. match at the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field.
 
Lynn led YHC 4-1 after the first quarter and took a 7-4 lead at the half. The Fighting Knights, which outshot 47-22, scored six of the seven goals scored in the second half.
 
Connor Leies led the Mountain Lions with two goals while Chandler Bradley, Matt Spadafora and Mason McBroom each tallied a goal. Jayden Campbell, Michael Gernatt and Mitch McDole each contributed an assist.
 
Lynn won 13 of the 21 face-offs while the Knights held a 44-16 advantage in ground balls. Zac Barrett won five face-offs while Zach Stephenson had three. Gernatt and Kerry Ostrowski each had three ground balls while E.J. de la Torre and Matty Ledon each scooped up two.
 
Mason King picked up 13 saves between the pipes in goal for the Mountain Lions.
