David Wallin earned medalist honors while the Mountain Lions finished in second place as a team at the Cliffs Intercollegiate Tuesday (March 22) afternoon.
Wallin who shot a one-under par 71 in the final round to complete the 36-hole tournament with a career score of 140. It was the first career win for the sophomore from Stockholm, Sweden, and he is the fifth Mountain Lion in the NCAA era to win a tournament.
Young Harris shot 303 in the final round over the par 72, 7017-yard layout on The Cliffs at Mountain Park Golf Course to finish in second place in the 13-team field at 595 - six strokes behind winner Queens University of Charlotte. It was the second consecutive runner-up finish for the Mountain Lions.
Eli Crumley recorded his fourth top-10 finish of the season when he tied for sixth with a 148 score after posting his second consecutive 74.
Clark Melton tied for 14th place at 150 after registering a 77 in the final round, while
Adam Taylor, who was playing as an individual, tied for 18th at 152 after shooting a 77.
Trey Pearson fired an 81 and tied for 46th place at 159 while
James Rowe shot 86 and finished in a tie for 54th at 162.
The Mountain Lions return to action Monday (March 28) when they travel to Greenwood, South Carolina, for their final regular-season tournament of the campaign when they compete in the Bearcat Golf Classic.
