MELBOURNE, Fla. | Sara Grenier scored four of her five goals in the first half as Florida Tech defeated Young Harris College 16-9 in a non-conference women's lacrosse match Friday (March 11) evening at Panther Field.

The Panthers improved to 4-1 while the Mountain Lions fell to 4-4. Young Harris continues the road trip Monday (March 14) when they travel to Spartanburg, South Carolina, for a 5:30 p.m. match against Converse College.

Jaclyn Kernohan's goal off a
Kaylynn Roach assist with 18:51 remaining in the first half pulled the Mountain Lions within a goal at 3-2, but Florida Tech scored six unanswered goals to take a 9-2 lead at the half.

Kendra Parenteau led the Mountain Lions with five goals – all in the second half. Kernohan added two scores while
Maddie Peek and
Erika Cross accounted for a goal apiece. Roach led YHC with two assists while
Sarah Bialecki and Kernohan had one each.

Young Harris held a 14-11 advantage in draw controls.
Meghan Tonnesen had five of them, while Kernohan added two. Parenteau led the Mountain Lions with four ground balls with Cross scooping up three more. Bialecki,
Rachel Lepine,
Julia Darroch and
Taylor Lincoln added two apiece.
