WINTER PARK, Fla. | Rollins College exploded for seven goals in the third quarter as the Tars defeated Young Harris College 13-6 in a men's lacrosse match Sunday (Feb. 7) afternoon at the Barker Family Stadium.
The Tars improved to 1-0 while the Mountain Lions fell to 0-2. Young Harris returns to the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field Saturday (Feb. 12) for its 1 p.m. home opener against Florida Southern College.
With Rollins leading 4-2 at the half, Justin Diamond scored two of his game-high four goals in the third quarter as the Tars took an 11-3 lead.
Jayden Campbell led Young Harris with two goals while
Bruce Silk,
Connor Leies,
Chandler Bradley and
Matty Ledon each accounted for a score.
Zach Stephenson won eight face-offs while
Zac Barrett won four. Stephenson led the Mountain Lions with four ground balls while
Mason King and
Zach Hemans each scooped up three. Silk,
Kerry Ostrowski, Ledon, Barrett, Bradley, and
Michael Gernatt add two ground balls each.
Mason King recorded eight saves in goal for the Mountain Lions while
Ryan Pickowitz had five more.
