Young Harris finishes in eighth place at Armstrong tournament

The Young Harris College men's golf team finished in eighth place at the Armstrong Pirate Men's Invitational Tuesday (Feb. 23) afternoon.
 
The Mountain Lions shot a final round 300 on the par 72, 7,016-yard layout at the Savannah Quarters Country Club to finish the 54-hole event at 896. No. 10 Flagler College won the nine-team tournament at 861, eight strokes ahead of No. 14 University of West Georgia.
 
David Wallin shot his second straight 74 and finished in a tie for 13th place at 220. Eli Crumley had the low round of the day for the Mountain Lions with a 73 and finished in a tie for 22nd at 223. Trey Pearson came in 33rd place at 227 after firing a 75 while Clark Melton was tied for 39th at 230 after shooting a 78. James Rowe rounded out the YHC contingent in 49th place at 237 after a 79.
 
The Mountain Lions return to the golf links March 13 when they travel to Monroe, North Carolina, for the J. Ralph Hargett Memorial Intercollegiate hosted by Wingate University.
