WALESKA, Ga. | Young Harris College shut out Reinhardt University 21-0 in a non-conference women's lacrosse match Wednesday (Feb. 17) afternoon at Ken White Field.

The Mountain Lions recorded their first shutout in the program's history (52 matches) as they improved to 2-0 while the Eagles fell to 2-1. The margin victory was also the largest in the short history of the program, surpassing last year's 19-goal margin against Lincoln Memorial University. Young Harris returns to action Saturday (Feb. 21) at 4 p.m. when they host Lees-McRae College in their home opener at the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field.

Young Harris, which outshot Reinhardt 35-4 (29-2 on goal), was led by
Nicole Kernohan and
Kaylynn Roach with four goals apiece.
Kendra Parenteau found the back of the net three times while
Erika Cross,
Katie McNutt,
Sarah Bialecki and
Taylor Lincoln added two goals each while
Jaclyn Kernohan and
Jordana Freitas accounted for a goal apiece.

Parenteau led the Mountain Lions, who led 15-0 at halftime, with five assists while
Jaclyn Kernohan and McNutt had two. Cross, Freitas, Lincoln and
Channing Milford each assisted on an YHC goal.
Meghan Tonnesen won six draw controls for Young Harris while Roach and
Jaclyn Kernohan had two.
Nicole Kernohan,
Anna Lummus and Roach each scooped up three ground balls for the Mountain Lions.
