Young Harris moves up to fifth place at West Georgia tournament

The Young Harris College men's golf team jumped up three spots to fifth place after the final round of the Matt Dyas Invitational Tuesday (Oct. 25) afternoon.

The Mountain Lions shot 294 on the par 72, 7026-yard layout at the Oak Mountain Championship Golf Course to finish the 54-hole tournament hosted by the University of West Georgia with a score of 895. Belmont Abbey College won the 13-team tournament with a score of 865, three strokes clear of Newberry College.

David Wallin picked up a top-10 finish as his 69 gave him a three-round score of 219, good for a tie for eighth place. Eli Crumley fired a 73 and tied for 16th place at 221 while Trey Pearson carded a 75 and finished in a tie for 27th at 225. Valter Andersson signed for a 77 and tied for 53rd place at 235 while John Bolger tallied an 80 and tied for 56th at 237.

The Mountain Lions open their spring season Feb. 13 when they travel to Fleming Island, Florida, to participate in the Spring Kickoff Intercollegiate.
