ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. | The Young Harris College men's golf team finished in fifth place at the Jay Jennison Cup Tuesday (Sept. 22) afternoon.
The Mountain Lions shot 298 in the final round on the par 72, 6,939-yard layout on the Slammer and Squire course at the World Golf Village to finish the 54-hole tournament at 874. No. 15 University of West Florida won the tournament at 852, seven strokes clear of No. 12 and tournament host Flagler College.
David Wallin finished in a tie for sixth place at 214 after posting a 74 in the final round.
Trey Pearson fired the low round of the day for the Mountain Lions with a 73 to finish at 216 and in a tie for 11th place while
Clark Melton had a 76 and tied for 27th at 222.
Eli Crumley carded a 77 and finished in a tie for 35th place at 224 while
Adam Taylor fired a 75 and came in a tie for 60th at 231.
The Mountain Lions return to action Oct. 5 when they compete at the UNG Fall Invitational in Dahlonega, Georgia.
