CALERA, Ala. – The Young Harris College men's golf team finished in fifth place at the Full Moon BBQ Invitational hosted by the University of Montevallo Tuesday (Sept. 15) afternoon.
The Mountain Lions shot 295 in the final round on the par 70, 6,651-yard layout at the Timberline Golf Club to finish the 36-hole tournament at 578. Georgia Southwestern State University, which is ranked No. 19 in NCAA Division II, won the event with a score of 564.
Trey Pearson recorded a top-10 finish as his 74 gave him a two-day score of 142 – three lower than his previous best 36-hole score – and a tie for ninth place.
David Wallin finished in a tied for 13th place at 144 after carding a 75 while
Adam Taylor tied his low 36-hole score of 145 and he tied for 16th after posting a 73 in the final round.
Clark Melton also shot a 73 and finished in a tie for 26th place at 147.
Eli Crumley tallied his second consecutive round of 75 and finished in a tie for 35th place at 150.
Young Harris returns to action Monday (Sept. 21) as they travel to St. Augustine, Florida, to take part in the Jay Jennison Memorial.
