YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – Lee University recorded a 5-0 non-conference victory over Young Harris College Wednesday (April 22) evening at the Zell B. Miller Field.
The Flames improved to 26-17-1 while the Mountain Lions fell to 14-28. Young Harris will return to action tomorrow (April 23) at 5 p.m. when they host Georgia College in a Peach Belt Conference contest.
Lee took advantage of two Young Harris errors in the first inning to open up a 4-0 lead against Mountain Lion starter Michael Livingstone (1-3). Chris Adams started the scoring with a sacrifice fly before Ben Holland added an RBI double to left field. Luke Toms added a two-run homer – his second of the season – to right field.
Holland added a solo home run - his seventh of 2015 – to left field in the sixth.
Grayson Bailey (3-2) earned the win in relief with three scoreless innings and five strikeouts.
Nick Sexton, Zach Odom, Brett Westmoreland, Zach Wall, Spencer Thomas and Troy Kizer each recorded a hit for Young Harris while Sexton and Wall each had an extra-base hit with a double.
