Crumley earns medalist honors as Mountain Lions finish in second place at Tusculum

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. – Young Harris College's Eli Crumley earned medalist honors while the Mountain Lions finished in second place as a team at the Tusculum Invitational Sunday (March 8) afternoon.

Eli Crumley Crumley, a sophomore from Cleveland, Georgia, shot a career low round of three-under par 68 in the final round to finish the 36-hole tournament with a college record (NCAA era) score of four-under par 138. Crumley edged Tusculum College's Nick Forsberg by a stroke to earn medalist honors. Crumley's win is his first in his YHC career and he is the fourth Mountain Lions in the NCAA era to win a tournament.                                    

The Mountain Lions shot 292 in the final round on the par 71, 6,733-yard layout on the Link Hills Country Club to finish the tournament with a college record score of 573. Tusculum shot 276 in the final round to edge the Mountain Lions by four strokes at 569.

Linus Manntz earned a top-10 finish as he tied for sixth place at 143 as he carded a 73 in the final round while David Wallin tied for 46th place with his second consecutive round of 76 to finish at 152. Trey Pearson tied for 56th place at 154 after shooting 75. First-round leader Clark Melton had a 75 in the final round, but was disqualified after his scorecard was turned in unsigned.  

Young Harris returns to action March 23 when they travel to Greenwood, South Carolina, to compete in the Bearcat Invitational.
