ORANGE PARK, Fla. – The Young Harris College men's golf team moved up one spot to third place Tuesday (Feb. 17) in the final round of the Spring Kickoff Intercollegiate co-hosted by Lincoln Memorial University and Wingate University.
The Mountain Lions shot 307 on the par 72, 6,823-yard layout on The Golf Club at Fleming Island to finish the 54-hole tournament at 915. The University of West Georgia won the 11-team event with a score of 895 after firing a 291 in the final round. Lincoln Memorial came in second place at 907, while fellow Peach Belt Conference institution University of North Carolina at Pembroke finished fourth at 916.
Eli Crumley was the top Mountain Lions as he registered a 75 and finished in a tie for 10th place at 226. David Wallin tied for 16th at 228 after firing a 78. Linus Manntz shot an 82 in the final round and came in 21st place at 232 while Trey Pearson had a 75 and tied for 22nd at 234. Clark Melton finished in a tie for 26th place at 237 after shooting a 79.
The Mountain Lions return to competition March 7 when they travel to Greeneville, Tennessee, to take part in the Tusculum Invitational.
