ORANGE PARK, Fla. – The Young Harris College men's golf team stands in fourth place Monday (Feb. 16) after the opening day of the Spring Kickoff Intercollegiate co-hosted by Lincoln Memorial University and Wingate University.
The Mountain Lions shot rounds of 302 and 306 on the par 72, 6,823-yard layout on The Golf Club at Fleming Island to stand at 608. The University of West Georgia leads the 11-team field at 604, followed by host Lincoln Memorial at 606 and the University of North Carolina at Pembroke at 607.
David Wallin and Linus Manntz are the top YHC golfers in the field and are tied for eighth place at 150. Wallin carded rounds of 74 and 76 while Manntz posted back-to-back rounds of 75. Eli Crumley is a stroke back at 151 and in a tie for 11th place after scores of 75 and 76. Clark Melton fired rounds of 78 and 80 and finds himself in a tie for 27th place at 158 while Trey Pearson is tied for 30th at 159 with scores of 80 and 79.
The 54-hole tournament concludes Tuesday (Feb. 17).
