YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. |
Hunter LeVeau scored 25 points to led King (Tenn.) University to an 86-76 victory over Young Harris College Saturday (Nov. 21) evening to spoil homecoming for the Mountain Lions at the YHC Basketball Arena.

The Tornado improved to 4-0 while the Mountain Lions fell to 1-3. Young Harris returns to action Tuesday (Nov. 24) when they begin its California trip with a 7:30 p.m. Pacific time contest against Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego.

Young Harris jumped out to an early 12-5 lead at the 16:03 mark as a jumper in the paint by Marcellus Roberts culminated a 7-0 run by the Mountain Lions. However, the Tornado took the lead for good at 25-24 with 7:14 remaining in the first half on two C.J. Good layups.

King, which led 40-34 at the half, pushed its lead to as many as 15 points (72-57) on a LeVeau three-pointer with 8:07 to play. Young Harris trimmed the deficit to single digits on a layup by Bjorn Walker that got the Mountain Lions within nine (74-65) with 6:21 remaining. YHC would get as close as four points (78-74) after Alex Pack hit the back end of two free throws with 3:46 to play; however, the Tornado, who forced YHC into a season-high 25 turnovers, scored the next eight points to lead 86-74 on a LeVeau layup.

"I told them the past two days if they didn't turn the ball over, they were going to win the game," said Young Harris head coach Pete Herrmann. "You can't win being sloppy with the ball. It was a great comeback at the end, but you can't make that many turnovers against a good team."

Good added 17 points for the Tornado while Mikquell Jackson (16) and Derick Pope (14) also finished in double figures. C.J. Wilson paced the Mountain Lions with 22 points and six assists while Marques McKoy recorded his third double double of the season with 16 points and 11 rebounds. J.B. Charles also finished with 10 points while Roberts finished with eight points and nine rebounds.
