ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The Young Harris College men's golf team finished in sixth place at the Jay Jennison Memorial hosted by Flagler College Tuesday (Sept. 23).
The Mountain Lions shot a 305 on the par 72, 7,073-yard layout at The Palencia Club in the final round to finish the 54-hole tournament at 898. Host Flagler won the event with a score of 873.
Linus Manntz and David Wallin tied for seventh place at 219, setting a new College 54-hole record by a stroke. Clark Melton held the previous standard of 220 set last season at the UWG Matt Dyas Invitational. Manntz carded a 75 in the final round while Wallin had a 77. Melton tied for 30th place at 229 after a 77 while Eli Crumley also shot a 77 en route to a 232 and a tie for 43rd. Trey Pearson carded a 76 in the final round and finished in a tie for 62nd place at 239.
The Mountain Lions return to the golf course Oct. 6 when they compete at the University of North Georgia Fall Invitational in Dahlonega, Georgia.
