NINETY SIX, S.C. – The Young Harris College men's golf team competed in the first two rounds of the Bearcat Golf Classic Saturday (March 22) afternoon hosted by Lander University.
The Mountain Lions were tied for 11th place after shooting rounds of 305 and 303 on the par 72, 7,133-yard layout at The Patriot at Grand Harbor Course for a score of 608. Fellow Peach Belt Conference member Georgia College leads the tournament by four strokes with a score of 583 after 36 holes.
Eli Crumley was the top scorer for the Mountain Lions as he is tied for 27th place at 145 after rounds of 72 and 73 while Linus Manntz is tied for 40th at 149 after tallying scores of 74 and 75. Clark Melton carded a 77 and 76 and is tied for 46th place at 153 while Reeves Bell is a stroke back and tied for 52nd after rounds of 78 and 76. Adam Taylor is tied for 66th place at 157 after an 81 and a 76.
The 54-hole tournament concludes Sunday (March 23).
