DAHLONEGA, Ga. – The Young Harris College men's golf team finished in 12th place at the University of North Georgia Fall Invitational Tuesday (Oct. 7).
The Mountain Lions shot 300 on the par 72, 6,967-yard layout at the Achasta Golf Club to complete the 54-hole event at 900. Fellow Peach Belt Conference institution Lander University won the tournament with a tally of 859.
Freshman David Wallin was named to the all-tournament team as he finished in a tie for fourth place at five-under par 211 after carding a five-under par 67 in the final round. Wallin set program records for low round by a stroke and the 54-hole score by a whopping eight strokes.
Eli Crumley, who was one of two players competing as an individual finished in a tie for 25th place at 220 after shooting a 78. Linus Manntz finished in a tie for 52nd place at 229 while Adam Taylor came in a tie for 56th at 230. Both golfers shot final rounds of 78. Trey Pearson carded a 77 and came in a tie for 62nd place at 233 while Clark Melton fired his second consecutive round of 78 and placed 67th with a score of 236. Reeves Bell, who was the other individual competing for the Mountain Lions had an 81 and tied for 72nd place at 247.
Young Harris will conclude its fall schedule when they travel to Carrollton, Georgia, Oct. 27 to compete at the UWG Matt Dyas Invitational.
