DAHLONEGA, Ga. – The Young Harris College men's golf team is in a tie for 11th place after 36 holes at the University of North Georgia Fall Invitational Monday (Oct. 6).
The Mountain Lions carded rounds of 299 and 301 on the par 72, 6,967-yard layout at the Achasta Golf Club to stand at 600. Fellow Peach Belt Conference institution Lander University leads the event at 565.
Eli Crumley, who was one of two YHC golfers competing as an individual, had the best day for the Mountain Lions as he is tied for seventh place at two-under par 142 after rounds of 73 and three-under par 69. David Wallin had scores of 74 and 70 to stand at even par 144 and in a tie for 13th. Linus Manntz is tied for 38th place at 151 following scorecards of 74 and 77 while Adam Taylor put together back-to-back rounds of 76 and is tied for 47th at 152. Trey Pearson had rounds of 75 and 81 and is tied for 60th at 156 while Clark Melton is tied for 68th place two strokes back at 158 after rounds of 80 and 78. Reeves Bell, who was the other golfer competing as an individual is in 73rd place at 166 after rounds of 81 and 85.
The 54-hole tournament concludes with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start Tuesday (Oct. 7).
