Mountain Lions move up to 14th at Flagler tournament

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The Young Harris College men's golf team finished in 14th place Tuesday (Sept. 24) at the Jay Jennison Memorial hosted by Flagler College.

The Mountain Lions shot 299 in the final round on the par 72, 7,073-yard layout at The Palencia Club to complete the 54-hole tournament at 909. Flagler won the tournament at 865, 11 strokes better than Queens University of Charlotte.

Clark Melton was the low Young Harris finisher at 224 and came in a tie for 31st place after shooting a 75 in the final round. Eli Crumley had a 76 and shot 225 and came in a tie for 36th place while Adam Taylor shot the low round of the tournament for the Mountain Lions with a 71 and came in 41st at 226. Drew Wagner came 73rd place at 235 after a 77 while Linus Manntz had an 81 and finished in a tie for 77th at 238.

The Mountain Lions return to the links Oct. 21 when they travel to Killen, Ala., to participate in the TVA Community Credit Union Invitational.
