ROME, Ga. – The Young Harris College men's golf team wrapped up their 2012-13 season with a seventh-place finish at the George H. Bedwell Memorial Golf Invitational Tuesday (April 16) afternoon.
The Mountain Lions shot rounds of 304 and 309 on the par 72, 6,701-yard layout at the Stonebridge Golf Club to finish the 36-hole tournament at 613. The University of Cumberlands won the 10-team event with a score of 578, 11 strokes clear of Walters State Community College.
Beau Gammage was the top finisher for the Mountain Lions as he carded rounds of 73 and 78 to finish in 24th place with a 151 score.
Adam Taylor and
Matthew Peeler each tied for 27th place at 153 as they each shot scores of 76 and 77.
Chase Hankla finished in a tie for 34th at 156 with back-to-back rounds of 78 while
Parker Hulme placed in a tie for 48th at 164 after rounds of 80 and 84.
Cameron Medina, who played as an individual, shot rounds of 81 and 77 to finish at 158, good for a tie for 39th place.
It was the final tournament for seniors Hankla, Medina and Peeler.
