Young Harris finishes in 10th place at UNCP tournament

WALLACE, N.C.  – The Young Harris College men's golf team finished in 10th place at the UNCP/Campbell Oil Classic Saturday (March 30) afternoon.

The Mountain Lions shot a final round of 315 on the par 72, 6,895-yard layout at the River Landing Country Club to finish the 54-hole tournament at 941. Tournament host University of North Carolina at Pembroke won the tournament by three strokes over Wingate University (894-897).

Adam Taylor fired a 76 to finish in a tie for 15th place at 226 while Beau Gammage also shot 76 in the final round and came in a tie for 32nd place at 234. Matthew Peeler tied for 43rd at 238 after registering an 82 while teammate Chase Hankla carded an 81 and finished in 50th place at 241. Parker Hulme tallied an 85 in the final round and shot 259 to finish in a tie for 62nd place.

Young Harris competes in its final tournament of the year when they travel to Rome, Ga., April 15 to compete in the Rome News-Tribune Invitational.
