PINE MOUNTAIN, Ga. – The Young Harris College men's golf team is in 10th place after the first round of the Callaway Gardens Intercollegiate Saturday (March 2).
The Mountain Lions shot 314 on the par 72, 6,900-yard layout on the Mountain View Golf Course at Callaway Gardens. Oglethorpe University, ranked number one in the NCAA Division III golf, shot a first round 292 and leads the tournament by 10 strokes.
Clark Melton is the top golfer for Young Harris as he is tied for seventh place after shooting a 74. Adam Taylor is tied for 25th with a 78 while Matthew Peeler is tied for 41st place at 80. Parker Hulme carded an 82 and is tied for 58th while Chase Hanka had a 91 and is tied for 98th.
The 36-hole tournament concludes Sunday (March 3).
