Mountain Lions tied for seventh place at Emmanuel

TOCCOA, Ga.  – The Young Harris College men's golf team is in a tie for seventh place after the first round of the Emmanuel (Ga.) College Fall Invitational Monday (Sept. 24) afternoon.

The Mountain Lions shot 323 on the par 72, 7,134-yard layout at the Currahee Club Golf Course. Erskine College holds a five-stroke advantage over tournament host Emmanuel (Ga.) College to lead the 12-team field at 303.

Matthew Peeler had the top finish of the day for the Mountain Lions after his 77 puts him in a tie for ninth place. Parker Hulme is tied for 11th place at 78 while Clark Melton is tied for 33rd place with an 82. Adam Taylor is tied for 50th after an 86 while Cameron Medina is in a tie for 54th place with an 87.

Covenant College's Levi Nix leads the tournament with a round of 69.

The 36-hole tournament concludes Tuesday (Sept. 25).
