ROME, Ga. – The Young Harris College men's golf team came in 15th place at the Rome News-Journal Invitational Tuesday (March 6) afternoon.
The Mountain Lions shot 322 on the final day of the men's tournament being played on the par 72, 6,732-yard layout at the Stonebridge Golf Club, and finished in 15th place with a two-day score of 639. The University of the Cumberlands, which is ranked No. 7 in the NAIA, won the 20-team tournament with a score of 586.
Chase Hankla narrowly missed a top-20 finish as he came in a tie for 21st place at 150 after tallying a 77 in the final round. Cameron Medina fired his second consecutive round of 78 and finished in a tie for 42nd at 156 while Evan Jordan recorded another 83 as he came in a tie for 85th at 166. Matthew Peeler recorded an 84 to finish at 167, good for a tie for 89th place. Caleb Kelley had a 95 and placed 111th with a score of 184. Hudson Keener earned medalist honors in the 111-player field with a score of 139.
Young Harris returns to action Monday (March 12) at the North Georgia Spring Invitational in Dahlonega, Ga.
