Mountain Lions in fourth place at North Georgia Spring Invitational

DAHLONEGA, Ga. – The Young Harris College men's golf team is in fourth place after the first round at the North Georgia Spring Invitational Monday (March 12) afternoon.

The Mountain Lions shot an opening round 330 on the par 72, 6,967-yard layout at the Achasta by Reynolds course. North Georgia leads the four-team field with a score of 301, five strokes better than the University of Montevallo.

Chase Hankla leads Young Harris with a score of 79 and is tied for seventh place. Matthew Peeler recorded an 80 and is tied for 11th while Jesse Brock shot an 85 and is in 20th place. Cameron Medina had an 86 and is in 21st place while Evan Jordan carded a 90 and is in 24th.

North Georgia's Howard Duffin leads the tournament field by three strokes after shooting a 70 in the opening round.

The Mountain Lions wrap up their 36-hole tournament Tuesday (March 13) with a 9:30 a.m. shotgun start.
