CLARKESVILLE, Ga. – The Young Harris College men’s golf team teed off their 2011-12 season Monday (Sept. 12) afternoon at the Piedmont Fall Invitational.
The Mountain Lions are in fourth place in the nine-team after an opening round of 315. The College of Coastal Georgia leads the tournament with a score of 300, eight strokes clear of Covenant College.
Cameron Medina leads the YHC contingent as he shot a 76 on the par 72, 6,723-yard layout at The Orchard Golf and Country Club and is tied for seventh place. Chase Hankla is tied for 12th place after carding a 78 while Jesse Brock is just out the top 20 after his 80 put him in a tie for 21st place. Matthew Peeler shot an 81 and is 28th place while Caleb Kelley is tied for 32nd with an 83.
Coastal Georgia’s Shiloh Snow leads the 46-player field with a one-over par 73, one stroke better than four other players.
The Mountain Lions wrap up the 36-hole tournament Tuesday (Sept. 13) morning.
